Music in Seattle Parks

Music programs can be found in many greater Seattle area parks in summer. Two that I recently became aware of are for classical music lovers of all ages.

Chamber Music in the Park will be held at the bandstand in Volunteer Park on Wednesday, July 27th at 7 pm. This free outdoor concert is part of the Seattle Chamber Music Society’s Summer Festival and is a very popular event.

Family oriented activities begin at around 5:30 pm. You can click on the above link for full details.

Music Under the Stars is a whole series of free musical events held throughout the month of July as part of the festival. Each evening starts with a live performance by a talented student ensemble. Then the evening continues with a KING FM live audio broadcast direct from Benaroya Hall.

Music Under the Stars is held at four Seattle Parks. Click on the link for details.

Delridge Playfield – West Seattle
Columbia Park – Columbia City
Freeway Park – Downtown
Volunteer Park – Capitol Hill

    • I hear ya. There are quite a few Music Under the Stars events on the schedule and they are usually (always?) on weekdays, which helps keep crowd size down. There’s generally quite a bit of room to spread out on the park lawns too. If any of the parks were close to me I’d at least drive by to check it out and and see if I felt comfortable. But none of them are unfortunately.
