Carkeek Park has a bluff with a gorgeous sweeping view of Puget Sound and the Olympics on a clear day. The only way to get to the beach at this park is to cross over the train tracks on a high footbridge and then take some steep stairs down.
I took these photos from the footbridge. I had to fight off some pretty serious vertigo and height anxiety to get out on the bridge. But it’s worth it, even if you aren’t going to go down the stairs, because you get a unique perspective of the park.
