I know! It was a gorgeous day, but I hadn’t realized the wind would be blowing there so much and it was close to 20 degrees with the windchill. It was worth it though, it was so beautiful! (It took over three hours for my legs to thaw out afterwards since silly me hadn’t worn long johns.)

Nothing seems more grounded to me than barnacles!

After I posted I spent some time looking at it close up and thinking how the barnacles have their own little universe on that discarded bit of shell.
